Kokedama (translated loosely, ‘koke’ means moss and ‘dama’ means ball) is a ball of soil, covered with moss, on which an ornamental plant grows; also known as the “poor mans bonsai”. The idea has its origins in Japan where Kokedama are very popular.
Kokedama is made, (influenced by the style of Japanese bonsai), by un-potting a plant, releasing the roots and forming a soil ball made with special akadama clay soil. It is all held together by layering moss and string.
Kokedama can be arranged as a hanging or free standing display and you are able to choose from many different plant styles to suit your homes light, so its time to get creative!
Choose from prayer plants, ferns, succulents, ivy’s, Christmas cactus and nephthytis
